Our Team

Dave Dufour is the founder and publisher of Flame Arrow Publishing, a Canadian independent press dedicated to speculative fiction that explores resilience, resistance, and rebirth. He works closely with authors to shape bold, emotionally resonant stories while building a bilingual catalogue that bridges English and French readers across Canada.

With a background in teaching and storytelling, Dave brings a collaborative, hands-on approach to publishing—guiding projects from early development to final release. His vision for Flame Arrow extends beyond books, aiming to create immersive reader experiences and a growing community around hopeful, transformative fiction.

Sabrina Raymond has been deeply passionate about books since childhood. After completing college studies in arts and literature, she pursued both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in literary studies at UQAM, followed by a short program in written French grammar.

She began her career as a copyeditor while also teaching French as a second language to learners and students at her alma mater and at the Université de Montréal. She later completed a graduate diploma in book publishing at the Université de Sherbrooke, which led her to take part in multiple stages of the publishing process, including work with the Bibliothèques de la Ville de Montréal and Québec Amérique, where she continues to work as a copyeditor.

Sabrina’s involvement in the literary world began through her contributions to Brins d’éternité as early as 2006, as well as to various academic and literary journals. In recent years, she has dedicated significant care and effort to the magazine’s mission as a copyeditor, proofreader, and associate editor.

Célia Chalfoun has worked as a French and English editor in speculative fiction for nearly ten years. She enjoys working on queer, hopepunk, and cozy stories, as well as any narratives that explore the relationship between humans and the living world and offer perspectives that move beyond anthropocentrism. She has served as a literary columnist on radio and is actively involved in the Canadian literary scene, where she regularly participates in juries and panel discussions and brings expertise focused on queer, inclusive, and exploratory writing.

Frédérick Boulay lives in Gaspé, in the Gaspésie region. After beginning studies in biology during the pandemic, he ultimately shifted to literary studies and creative writing at Université du Québec à Rimouski. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in literature, where he examines the relationship between the horror and noir genres in the Carnets de Francis trilogy by François Lévesque. In addition to contributing to Flame Arrow Publishing for nearly two years, he works as a bookseller and promotes genre fiction and Quebec literature whenever he can.

Born on this planet but convinced of having extraterrestrial origins, Marie spent the first eighteen years of their life in The Maritimes. After earning a bachelor’s degree in translation and working in the profession for two decades, they are now exploring the literary world. Following their work revising the screenplay of a steampunk science fiction film, they now bring to the renewed Brins d’éternité reading committee both an ability to read the equivalent of fifteen books a month and a deep passion for speculative fiction. They also write columns for the magazine and lead the adult book club at their local library.
