In a post-collapse Canada slowly healing from centuries of extraction, sisters Apple and Dove are raised in a clan that values usefulness above personhood. When Apple runs away in search of Utopia, a rumored sanctuary where the world has been restored, Dove follows, wounded but unwilling to abandon her sister.

Apple is drawn toward the promise of a different life, one rooted in abundance and belonging.

Dove must survive the wilds with failing sight and a growing certainty that Utopia is not what it claims to be.

As their journeys unfold through recovering forests, rewilded communities, and the ruins of the old world, the sisters are forced to confront betrayal, inherited violence, and the cost of believing in salvation built on control.

In a land where hope grows slowly and survival demands choice, rebellion becomes the first seed of something real.

The Wild We Chose is a character-driven solarpunk novel about sisterhood, resistance, and the hard work of cultivating new futures from the remains of the old world.
